Child Development Manager
CHILD, Inc. is seeking a full-time Child Development Manager, with Infant & Toddler experience. The private, non-profit program provides Head Start, Early Head Start, State Pre-K, Extended Day Child Care, and Mental Health Services to children and families in Kent County, RI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is one of four Child Development Managers who are members of a multi-disciplinary administrative team responsible for the leadership, management and oversight of a high quality early education and care program that offers comprehensive services and supports.
Child Development Managers are responsible for the development and implementation of research-based best practices and current trends in early learning, curriculum, child assessment, family engagement, and teacher effectiveness. Specific tasks will include:
•Staff Support, Development, and Supervision
•Data-Driven Decision Making
•Continuous Quality Improvement
•Advocacy for Children, Families, and the Workforce
•Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field with ECE coursework
•RIELDS Administrator Certificate or the ability to acquire credential within one year of hire
•Demonstrated experience in birth-five program administration
•Strong knowledge of research-based indicators of high quality practices and systems in the field of early childhood, specifically programming for infants and toddlers
•Strong knowledge of DCYF Child Care Regulations, BrightStars Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System Standards, and RIDE CECE Standards
•Outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•RIDE Early Childhood Teacher Certification
•Knowledge of Rhode Island’s Workforce Knowledge and Competencies (WKC) for Early Childhood Administrators and Education Coordinators
•Knowledge of NAEYC Accreditation Standards and Head Start Performance Standards
•Successful experience working in a team setting
•Spanish speaking candidates

Must have advanced degree in Early Childhood Education and minimum of five years supervisory or management experience.
