Mental Health Manager/Clinician

CHILD, Inc. provides programs for young children and their families residing in the five communities of Kent Count, RI. These programs include Head Start, Early Head Start, State Pre-K and full-day childcare. Clinical services provided include child-focused individual and family therapy, and Kids Connect therapeutic classroom supports.

The Position: We’re looking for an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who preferably has experience working with young children and families experiencing the challenges associated with living in poverty. This position requires proficiency in, supervising family service case workers, providing clinical services and general managerial supports.


Provide clinical services to individual children and their families.
Design Kids Connect service plans and provide on-going supervision to staff implementing the service.

Supervise, and support a team of 4 to 6 social workers as they provide wrap around services to families and family engagement activities.
Team with teachers and child development managers in maximizing the social emotional functioning of classrooms and individual children.

Participate in a Multi-disciplinary management team responsible for overall program implementation and quality assurance.
Collaborate with community providers servicing program  families.

A Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work or other related Mental Health Discipline.
Independent Licensure in Rhode Island.
Clinical experience working with children ages birth to five.
High level of organizational and communication skills necessary for operating in a multi-disciplinary team with several simultaneous initiatives.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with data-driven assessment, decision making, and program evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to partner with community providers to maximize supports to program participants.
Experience working with Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education programs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
